Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive

Size
Type

These adhesive products are a flexible urethane adhesive for fixing nicks, cuts and rips in your swim wetsuit. Those annoying cuts from finger nails or from pulling just that little bit too hard with the pads of your fingers. But fear not, they are an easy and durable fix.

We have two types. The Stormsure clear and the black 'Neoprene Queen'. Each has a slightly different usage.

Stormsure Clear for nicks and cuts in the outer neoprene surface.

Neoprene Queen for actual full on rips (seams) and larger damage (but can also be used for small cuts/nicks too).

Stormsure Clear and Neoprene Queen are specifically designed for repairing neoprene and other synthetic fabrics commonly used in wetsuits and outdoor gear. These high-quality adhesives are easy to use, flexible, and provide a strong and long-lasting bond that will withstand the toughest conditions.

Here at RubyFresh, we've found that buying the larger size tubes is a waste as so little is used each repair that the larger tubes eventually go off once opened. So these small 5g tubes are much better.

Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive is a polyurethane based adhesive and can be used in situations that demand extremely high durability, strength and flexibility. The degree of elasticity offered allows for use for both static as well as for more flexible bonding and sealing purposes such as a wetsuit. These adhesive types are formulated from polymers and solvents.

  • Stormsure is a one-part liquid clear polyurethane-based (PU) adhesive that reacts with moisture to polymerize and cure which provides very strong and waterproof bonding. It is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
  • How to use: Surfaces to be bonded must be clean and free of dirt (dust, grease, etc.). Apply glue to the surfaces of the neoprene cut to be bonded (use a match or a kebab stick or similar). Assemble immediately by keeping the newly bonded cut closed together by placing that section of the wetsuit into a concave shape i.e doubling the suit over to force the join closed. You do not need much of the glue, there should be minimal amounts squeezed out once postioned. Immobilise for at least 10-12 hours. Leaving overnight is a good option.
  • The glue is transparent so it won't discolour the wetsuit surface you need to join. It can be used indoors and outdoors and will last for a long time under water too.
  • The glue should be used at room temperature (15°C- 25°C for best results). Do not use below 5°C. If the glue is too cold it may appear white and waxy - just warm it up until it is a transparent liquid again and it will work fine. Complete curing time: 10-12 hours. Resistent to temperatures from -30°C to +80°C.
  • TIPS: Store partly-used tubes in the fridge or even the freezer. Warm up to room temperature before re-use.
